Selected Listener Comments:

“I JUST listened to 'The Aftermath'..Wow Dale!!! It gave me goose bumps!!! Very VERY haunting. (nice voice too by the way!) You're very talented to have written that...the words cut right through you when you hear them! I see you just put that together in a few days huh? Thats truly a gift! I think when terrible things happen like you are going through, you're absolutely right...it stirs more emotions up and if you have the 'gift'/ability to express what you feel in words/song it is amazing how much THAT touches others!

I have to tell you while listening to that...it made my heart race some...it captures the sentiment of what so many of us are feeling and puts it RIGHT in your face...it truly affects you emotionally when listening to it. Sort of brings it all back....that first day...the shock, the stories of certain heroic acts, the intense desire to try to understand it and seek revenge.

I think you'll be getting alot of response from 'the Aftermath.' Whoever listens to it will definitely be affected by it. It is NOT a good feeling...but a feeling we need to remember and hold in our hearts...I think to help us to NEVER take life for granted again.”

“Thanks for sharing your song and your feelings about this tragedy. I really appreciate it, music makes me feel better. I'm right outside of NYC, and it's really hard for me to even imagine the depth of the tragedy just a little while from my home. I hope you are doing alright.”

~***~

“Thanks for the song. You are very clever with the computer. We were all numb from the tragedy of last week, but there was certainly evidence of courage and the goodness of humankind which is very heartening.”

~***~

“ouch. I couldn't listen to the whole thing....it hurt too much. I . . . on a certain level i liked what i was hearing, but i couldn't listen to it, Dale. Please don't take that personally....or take it as a compliment.”

~***~

“Master master master.... thank you for sharing this with us.. Your reaction and emotions came through loud and clear.... (pissed off yet sensitive)....”

“Very cool--yet disturbing. No, I liked it a lot. Cool harmonies going on...”

~***~

“Good lyrics. Good, positive thing to do too.”

~***~

“Mornin'! I just listened to The Aftermath. Pretty dark and creepy. I like it! The last paragraph contains the best lyrics/lines...sets a tone for 'here it comes you bastards.' I'll be playin' it for some of the fellas I work with.”

~***~

“Purdy cool there, friend. A little on the creepy side, too. But then, what did I expect from the event/the artist? It was really evocative, and you should take that as a compliment. Really! I really did enjoy the tune. xox”

~***~

“DUDE...that was the shit!! Congrats... Long live FREEDOM!!”

~***~

“Hey Dale, that tune you wrote for the Sept.11 incident is awesome. The mood you created and the lyrics you used just all made sense. I really enjoyed listening to it more than once.”

~***~

“VERY COOL song! I'm loving it, I downloaded it and am listening right now. Sad as it is... reality hits and we will never forget. This song will stay on my hardrive for a very long time Dale.”

~***~

“Very poignant, Dale - it really summed up the raw emotions we all felt, and that will continue to smolder. Thanks for sharing it with us.”

~***~

“OHHHH Hell Yeah! That is a outstanding piece. Good job man.”

~***~

“Very cool Dale. The world has changed for sure...hopefully one day the world will be a better place...thanks for the reminder... regards”

~***~

“Wow, I was more expecting some slow ballad. Since I happen to find most slow ballads boring and unintersting, I was pleasantly surprised to hear this. I though it was VERY interesting and very well done (despite the raw production). Great job. I'm glad I clicked.”

~***~

“The Aftermath is really a musical gem. The xylophone/vibes stuff adds nice texture to the peaceful part of the song. I did not notice it until just now. Great stuff. I love how it gets ugly during the middle, the distorted voice and everything. There was alot of other stuff in the mix that was hard to tell what it was. I hear birds chirping at the beggining, thats freakin awesome. The bass fits in really nicely too. I would have liked to hear the electric up more because its sounded really cool too. The synth voices or your voice in the background also adds nice depth making it sound dramatic. This should be the anthem to the nation, and its fitting that today is July 4th, I think Dale should blast this stuff in front of city hall in L.A. today. Or submit it to the networks to play on Sept 11 this year as a tribute to those lost.”

~***~

“Nice stuff. I enjoyed the tune. I still get emotional when I think of 9-11 and the Pink Floyd vibe I got from the song made it a great listen about such a tragedy. It would be great to hear some other stuff you have done! Take Care...”

~***~

“Doesn't matter that it's not guitar-oriented. I liked it. It has to do with a mood and a theme, and that day is going to live on forever. As a medic, I lost a lot of brothers and sisters that day.”

~***~

“Awesome tribute Dale. You certainly captured the mood of a year ago. With tomorrow being the aniversary, I think we're all reflecting back. Thanks man.”

~***~

“i checked out Aftermath.. and i was very impressed! that is a really great song and i found it very engaging and interesting!”

~***~

“hi dale, powerful song especially with the honest delivery of the words, and the use of expletives was perfectly justified, they were running thru my head, too! you did great with an extremely difficult theme.

Aftermath is a haunting song! how in the world you make modulations work so well is beyond me, it was so inspiring that i started to hum to it and so deep i had to stop ! great mix of tones, it was full even with few instruments used, a good choice of sounds, especially the voice. evil!”

~***~

“Dale's music is @#%$ deeper than the Grand Canyon. I wish I knew as much about music as he knows. I have no clue how to even begin writing something like the Aftermath.”

~***~

“I listened to your 'Aftermath' song. It was interesting, to say the least. I was pleased to hear something of such an artistic nature. I guess I was kind of expecting the typical strummy dummy guitar music that so many people try to emulate on their sites. It kind of reminds me of something in the neighborhood of Ween or some of Mike Patton's work. Sort of.”

~***~

“Only an awesome musician like yourself could bring out so many complex emotions in one track. F#%$in' great job.”

~***~

“‘The Aftermath’ is awesome, very profound, very honest and I liked the chord progression that gives it a very fitting background, very moody. You took me right back there with that song and made a funny feeling in my guts. It is a good thing not to forget what happened that day. To me, that's what music is all about. I read the comments and believe you have ‘touched’ people with that one.”

~***~

“Deep. Yo man, i'm Scottish but on that day we were all from New York city. amazing track. i couldn't have done what you did there dude you must have been in a preety dark ultra zone. i hope someone gave you a hug after that recording. peace out man.”

~***~

“‘The Aftermath’... it really packed a punch. The chord progression you used was awesome...there was such BEAUTY in all the dissonance, and I absolutely loved it. It hit me on an emotional level, and though I am a teenager who probably doesn't understand these things as well as most people, it stirred up an anger for those goddamn terrorists that I don't think I'd ever felt two years ago, and I'm THANKFUL for that. You have a gift, and thanks for sharing it!”

~***~

“very cool... Excellent lyrics. Really admire how you have worked through this topic. I am intrigued by the way you have blended the music with the vox/lyrics. I should really blaa blaa blaa for awhile but to honest I think this is excellent and I am impressed. The lyric is excellent, more poetry then song but quite brilliant. Sign me up!”

~***~

“Pick a side...... This is very interesting. I liek the melody of it. WIsh there was more to this song. But it just wouldn't fit right. It has something as everyone can see as evident. This would be a nice hidden track on an album....Enjoy!”

~***~

“intro is very sonic youth, lee renaldo style. the chord structure is great. I'd kind of like to hear it turn into a real song with singing but that's obviously not what you wanted to do and that's ok. I like this song overall”

~***~

“hmmm, not really sure. kinda poetic, but I didn't like the rhyme schemes (too many simple monosyllabic words in the rhyme)...the music is not bad, the progressions are nice and dark, and the mood is a mix of scary and anxious. It has potential to be good, but is walking a fine line between cool and corny.”

~***~

“Intro has my attention..1st minute and the guy is still talkin..minute 2 and I realize this is different..very different.”

~***~

“Interesting 911 intro. The shift to distorted vocals was neat. Not much like anything i've heard.Very deep and dramtic made me think.”

~***~

“interesting. excellent lyrics and excellent way to convey the madness and emotions. it could not have been written and composed any better. excellently recorded. the message is very clear and creatively written. backing vocals strong in getting the point across. good chord structure.”

~***~

“I do not have much appreciation for spoken word. I would rather hear someone sing. I didn't find the lyrics so great or powerful that it made up of the lack in musical value. I thought the music itself (igonoring the talking voice) created an intersting mood. It sounds a little like something they would play on a quirky WB show while the main character did somthing strange and sneaky with their friends. Have you considered composing soundtracks?”

~***~

“Creepy. I don't like the talking part. It's nice to have that as a poem, but this is creepy. Is this even a song? I cant really hear a chord structure... or backing vocals, oh there they are... but it sounds like a synth. This is original, but I don't like it.”

~***~

“Original. Beginning seems very original (and also later). "Sisters, brothers, ecc." reminds me of The Doors. Great production, with great use of effects. -- ALL this from MY UNIQUE point of view (for my tastes).”

~***~

“A Statement. So much for lightweight pop. This ditty is simply not afraid to reel off a political diatribe that is as refreshing as anything from Public Aenemy of The New Prophets. Just whiter, I guess. While I particularly dig the Mr. Smith/Matrix-inspired vox, the backing vocals could be punched up in the mix. The mood, while grim and dark is lyrically appropriate as is the basic chord structure. Is it missing a big hook? A solid b-section, bridge or infectuous chorus. I think not...”
